With Great Joy, I say, “Here We Go Again!”

Galia Gabé Gambrell, June 19, 2022, three days old

My greatest joy, honor and privilege is being a mother. There is simply no other title nor accomplishment that compares to my title of “Mommy.”

On June 16, 2022, the Gambrell family leaped to four with the addition of our baby girl, Galia Gabé Gambrell aka #GigiGambrell.

Galia means “Wave of God,” interpreted as moving with God and my first name Gabrielle means “God is my strength” and “Woman of God.”

Though my husband named Galia, our daughter is named in honor of my late Godmother, Gabé Ynes Gigi Grant. Both my God mother and Galia share the initials of G.G.

And it brings me so much joy to add that Jeffrey Michael Gambrell II (J2) is a superb big brother already. J2 is not only his father’s namesake, he adores his male best friend and is madly in love with daddy. He’s my baby boy, but there’s something incredibly special about his relationship with my husband. It’s quite beautiful and just the thought of it brings me joy.

I have honestly dreamt about having a little girl because I’ve always wanted to share the relationship that I had with my Godmother with a mini me. My Godmother was my very best friend, the person that I couldn’t wait to call with good or bad news, for advice, counsel and to receive unconditional love, even if I was being told that I was completely wrong.

I truly look forward to building an unbreakable mother-daughter bound with Galia. I look forward to loving her unconditionally, reminding her of life’s lessons, and guiding her into the right direction with God’s Word and promises for our lives.

As the new mother of two, who has various careers, and is currently teaching a few classes at Columbia University and New York University, the idea of balance, support systems and assistance is front of mind. Without a doubt, family, especially J2 and Gigi will forever be my top priority above anything else and I’m honored to be their mother.

There are no proper words to describe my husband and how he is as a father, and he has quickly settled into his new girl dad title.

I am immensely humbled that God saw fit to bestow this blessing on the Gambrell family. I am thankful for my family, friends and tribe for showering me with love throughout this entire journey of becoming a mother of two. As I look at my children, I know how real, loving and faithful God is.

J2 & Gigi, mommy and daddy love you so so much! May you know that the world is yours! Nothing is impossible, even the word itself says “I M POSSIBLE.” God is with you always!
