Follow my newest journey about wealth, financial prosperity and MONEY

Happy September! Fall is underway and it’s time that we fall into our purpose and goals as 2022 will be here before we know it.

I am really excited to launch a new endeavor sharing my Gift of Gab focusing on a topic that I love very, very much: MONEY. I am extremely passionate about financial wealth and prosperity, especially amongst the Black community. We are taught to be “secret sensitive,” when it comes to money which truly hinders knowledge amongst our communities including those who need it the most.

Growing up, and even to this day, I discuss finances with my parents on a daily basis. Both my father and mother love talking about money as much as I do. At a very young age, before I was a teenager, my father taught me about the power of a perfect credit score, and the buying power that you have with phenomenal credit, even if you don’t have money in the bank. By the time I was 13, I successfully managed my credit and used a credit card instead of a debit card, which has many perks. By the time I was 18, my credit score was well in the 700s and by the time I was 21 over 800.

I have always been pretty good at saving money because of my mother, but also because of a fear of being without, and fear of lack of access. Money provides great access, that’s for sure!

Because of my aggressive saving and remarkable credit score, along with my father’s 30+ years of knowledge in real estate guiding me throughout the home buying process, I was able to purchase my first home, a 7 bedroom complete fixer upper in Westchester, New York at 27 years old while driving my dream car with a 0% interest rate. Mind you, I never shy away of the fact that I graduated with my masters from Iona College with a whopping $150,000 in overall school loans by age 22. I am not complaining, but it’s important to point out that I, like many fellow Americans, have school loan debt and lots of it.

Attending IONA College was one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life. It’s changed me forever and still improves who I am as a leader, mother, wife, and overall person. Iona’s responsible for bringing me closer to the Lord, for me meeting my soulmate and for my friendships with my best friends turned sisters. I love IONA and am blessed that I attended the one of a kind institution, just outside NYC, with everything to offer. I truly LOVE IONA and am honored to serve on both the Board of Trustees, as well as the Alumni Board. But yes, I still have a MASSIVE amount of school loans to pay off. Nonetheless, I am still able to save and keep my credit as close to perfect as possible because of smart decisions with and about money. Multiple income streams helps as well, but we’ll get to that soon.

It brings me joy that my son and future children will have financial freedom that I never had. I am enthusiastic about fostering imperative conversations about wealth, financial prosperity and MONEY. So here’s to eliminating stigmas, sharing knowledge and supporting Black financial wealth. Please follow my newest journey sharing my #GiftofGabrielle via my new Instagram page:_giftofgabrielle_.
